Only What You Need, Nothing You Don't—Our goal is to provide our customers quality applications that perform as intended with costs as low as possible. This means that we reuse as much field-tested code as possible and don't add anything that does not contribute to getting the clients' work done.  Because we use fundamental software development practices, there is less rework of the application which results in lower costs. Costs are also reduced through the use of code libraries. MicroFocus Software code libraries consist of many hundreds of well-documented and thoroughly tested code components. Standard functions are simply copied from the code library into the application being developed rather than writing them from scratch. These library routines are fully documented and have been thoroughly tested in the field. The code library is a composite of both purchased libraries and code developed in-house. Using the code library greatly reduces development time and cost while simultaneously increasing code reliability by using off-the-shelf component software where applicable.

Team members at MicroFocus Software hold more than a dozen Microsoft certifications including certifications in SQL Server, Visual Basic .NET, XML and Web Services, Access, and Excel.  Twenty percent of each work week is spent in training.
